MQG Victoria – Mini Mod Swap

MQG Victoria Mini Mod Swap

We are please to bring the Mini Mod Swap to our guild members!

A fun activity for you to practice “tiny piecing” and engage with other guild members all the while contributing to a wonderful cause!

The Mini Mod Swap is the brain child of Berene Campbell of Happy Sew Lucky, an accomplished modern quilter known for her Collective Healing Projects  and now the Handmade Collective Awards to which MQG Victoria has made a donation on behalf of our members.

So how does the Swap work?

• Members can opt-in before June 5th by responding to the intake form emailed to all members.

Pick a colour palette and a background colour.  Can’t decide? “Keeners” can sign up for more than one!

Mini Mod Swap Palettes

• Groups of 5 people with the same colour palette/background choice will be formed.  A list of members in your group, the patterns and instructions will be emailed by June 12th.

Block size: 1 1/2” x 1 1/2″ finished / 2” x 2” unfinished.

• You will make 30 blocks – Video Tutorials available at the Happy Sew Lucky YouTube Channel

• You will keep 6 blocks for yourself.

• You will mail 4 people 6 blocks each.  Deadline for mailing is July 12th.

• You will receive 4 envelopes of 6 blocks each (24) back in the mail.

The best part…You now have 30 blocks to sew into a cute project!!  We will do a dedicated Show and Share at our September meeting for members to show off their creations.

A few inspiration photos now to get you thinking.  More inspiration can be found on Instagram #minimodswap.  We encourage you to post photos of your progress using the hashtag #minimodswap and tagging @mqgvictoria so we can cheer you on.  You can also share with the rest of guild in our MQG Victoria Social Group over on FaceBook.
