Learn a fun technique using strip piecing and a blend of colours to create your own unique quilt art. This is an intermediate sewist class where you will embrace wonky angles, go with and against the fabric bias, and make a 12″ quilt art piece mounted on canvas.
Date/Time: Friday, May 3 from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm and Saturday, May 4 from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm
Location: Cordova Bay 55+ Associations room, located within Cordova Bay Elementary school, at 5238 Cordova Bay Rd.
Note: A $15 supply kit is included in the registration cost.

Description
Learn a fun technique using strip piecing and a blend of colours to create your own unique quilt art. This is an intermediate sewist class where you will embrace wonky angles, go with and against the fabric bias, and make a 12″ quilt art piece mounted on canvas.- Date/Time: Friday, May 3 from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm and Saturday, May 4 from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm
- Location: Cordova Bay 55+ Associations room, located within Cordova Bay Elementary school, at 5238 Cordova Bay Rd. Parking is in front of the school and the entrance is to the left of the main school doors
- Supply List:
- Fabric: Ten fat quarters of solid fabric, choose 2 colours that work well together, but have some contrast.
- Five shades of each colour, very light (this could be white for one colour) to very intense or dark
- One 12” x 12” square of solid black fabric
- Thread: for piecing (I like to use light grey), black, and assorted colours for quilting- to match the fabric
- Cutting mat
- Big and small rulers (6.5” square is ideal for small ruler)
- Rotary cutter
- Pins
- Fabric scissors
- Sewing machine in good workshop order
- Walking foot for quilting
- For basting: pins or adhesive
- 14” x 14” square of batting
- Fabric: Ten fat quarters of solid fabric, choose 2 colours that work well together, but have some contrast.
