MQG Victoria Guild Challenge 2024

“Super Scrappy & Very Verbal”

In 2024 we invite members to take up the challenge and make a quilt that makes use of scraps and delivers a message.

• The theme is “Super Scrappy & Very Verbal”. You have a whole year to show us what that means to you.  There is no wrong answer.
• Get your Modern on! Try at least one…or two or five NEW-to-you modern quilting ideas!
• SAY something with your quilt…a phrase of a song, a line of a poem, a quote, a name, a collection of words, etc. To get your message across, you may use letters or symbols or…?
• Any and all quilting methods are welcome…improv or paper pieced or appliqué or…?
• Use embroidery or embellishments or other creative methods to adorn your creation.
• There are no size restrictions…any size will do.
• Consider making it a two sided quilt – how about scrappy on one side and verbal on the other?
• Go ahead and make more than one challenge quilt…maybe a mini series?
• You don’t have to keep it a secret. Show us your progress. Share your ideas & discoveries & questions with guild members either at guild meetings or anytime in our new facebook group found here.
• Finishes can be shown throughout the year, but everybody shows theirs at the big show & share at the December 2024 Guild meeting
• There will be prizes, of course!

This just may be the nudge you need to try something new in 2024.  Go for it!
