“Quilted Postcards” – 2026 Intra-Guild Exchange
Our 2026 exchange will be within our guild and we are making quilted postcards!
There is a wealth of resources and inspiration online including this excellent tutorial to get you started.
The theme is summer! So think colours and designs for flowers, the beach, a picnic, or anything else that means summer to you. Make one, or make many!
Bring completed postcard(s) to the July 2026 guild meeting. We will put them all in a box, and participants will draw out the same number of cards they contributed. If by chance you draw your own, you get to go again!
We look forward seeing all your summer fun creations!
“Use the Fabric” – 2026 Guild Challenge
Inspired by the The Modern Quilt Guild theme for 2026, “Use the Fabric”, we are asking you to take stock of your fabric collection and use it!!
YES!…that includes the *good stuff*. It can also include, long held yardage (we see you 1980s calico), scraps, repurposed clothing, or maybe even unused linens. If you are hanging onto it for someday…That day has arrived!
Rules:
- Try to use only use stashed materials – fabric, thread, zippers, buttons, etc.
- You must choose from of the over 220 patterns available for free at the MQG Member Resource Library to make your project.
- Projects, finished or in process, will be revealed at the September 2026 MQGV guild meeting.
- Work does not need to be kept secret. Feel free to share your progress on social media or guild meetings.
- Work on your own or gather some friends and make it a group project!
- Try something new. Step out of your usual rut!
- OH!!…and there will be prizes!!
