Block Lotto – March 2022

Easy Pinwheel

Size: 12 1/2″ square (please check your final measurement!)
Fabrics:
Any stripe of your choice:
  • Four rectangles 6 1/2″ X 3 1/2″
Black on white print:
  • Eight squares 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
White on black print:
  • Four rectangles 6 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
Put it together:
  1. With the striped rectangles and the black on white print squares, make four flying geese units. Press the seams to the white fabric.
  2. Then sew the top of one flying geese unit to one white on black rectangle along the long edge. Watch your points – this is easier if you sew with the flying geese unit on top.
  3. Arrange these four new units in a pinwheel fashion like the photo. Sew together, pressing seams open.
Finished block should measure 12 1/2″ square.

Make one, or make several!

Blocks are returned to April’s MQG Victoria meeting where each block will earn on entry into the Block Lotto.  The winning ticket holder takes home all blocks!
