Block Lotto – May 2020

DIZZY DAISY

Unfinished size 10” square
For this block you will need –
Flower petals – Four 5” squares of a modern floral print.  You can cut one layer cake square into four if you have one.
Flower centre – Four 2 1/2” squares yellow tone-on-tone or solid, a charm square works perfectly for this.
Background – Eight 2 1/2” squares white solid
Draw a diagonal line across the wrong side of each 2 1/2” square

Sewing –
1. We want our yellows to match up to make our centre, so lay the 2 1/2” squares on the right side of each 5” squares as shown in the photo.
2. You can just stitch all the way around on each 5” square. *Tip – stitch one thread width to the right of the line which will help keep your block the correct size. Trim off the corners and press out. Square off any wonky edges.
3. Arrange your four sections as shown in the photo and sew together. Press and square up to 10” if necessary. Easy!
