Show and Share – March 2023

Aina couldn’t wait to share her entry in our 10th Birthday Quilt Challenge!

While we applaud her enthusiasm we are reminding members not to share their creations until the big reveal at our September meeting.

Penny completed this wonderful Snowflake quilt in Christmas fabrics.

Pat used pretty batiks in her Pojagi (Korean Stained Glass) piece.

Pat also finished this autumn coloured beauty.

Susan wowed us with her improv city quilt.  We particularly love the ombre sky and border fabrics.

Sharon made good use of scraps from our QuiltCon Community Challenge quilt.

Sharon also shared this pretty baby quilt.  We love how the quilting plays up the floral theme.

Cindy gifted this beautiful “Print Pop Curves” quilt to a fellow health care worker.  Check out that rich Burgundy colour on the back contrasting with the chartreuse binding…such a good choice.

Judy shows off her fussy cutting skills in her Polaroid quilt.  Yellow and orange frames really pop on the bright blue background.

We love Plus Block quilts in all their shapes and sizes.  Netta won these blue pluses in a recent guild Block Lotto to which she added just a few orange for a wonderful pop! Her pieced back ties it all together.

Liz has gotten on the temperature quilt bandwagon.  Each block chronicles daily high and low temperatures in her neighbourhood for 2022.

We love her unique neutral colour palette and the strip of blocks she included on the back indicates fabrics used in each temperature range.

Esther has finished her Pas de Deux 2022 Block of the Month quilt using only fabrics from stash.  The two colour sections offered an opportunity to play with value and explore a variety of piecing techniques.

Esther also shared her entry in the Canadian Quilters Association’s Earth Day Sustainability Challenge.  The baby quilt top and back were made from two gently used top sheets.
