April Meeting announcements

• 241 Bag with Krista Hennebury. Saturday, May 10th 10-4 at a mystery location. Cost is 45$/members, 55$/non-members. We still have a few spots left, please email us to join in the fun and hold your spot. Remember that there will be cake!
• There will be NO MAY SEW-IN this month. Regularly scheduled sew-ins will resume in June. 
• The Victoria Quilt Guild Show and Sale is coming up! May 2, 3, 4th at Pearkes Arena. Some of our members are also in the Victoria Guild so be sure to support them. We have an info table at the show as well, thank you to the volunteers running our table.

Challenge Info: (for members only)

• “Modern Metallic” at the Quilt! Knit! Stitch! show. The deadline to submit pictures is May 2nd. We will have a show and share of these quilts at our May 15th meeting. (At Pearkes!)
• We are doing a pouch swap with the Fraser Valley Modern Quilt Guild. The signup for it is HERE. Rules are at the link. Ideas for pouches will be are on our challenge page soon. Signup deadline is May 19th. 
• MQG Michael Miller Challenge. The deadline to submit pictures has been extended to July 25th. 

Miscellaneous:

• Lisa is collecting empty plastic thread spools on behalf of WILD Arc (the SPCA Wild Animal Rescue). If you have some to share, please bring them for Lisa at our May meeting OR you can drop them off at most of the fabric stores.
• We would like to feature 1-2 book reviews a month. If you have a new book you’d like to share with everyone, please email us for the guidelines. 
• we need a swap for the quilt show table: we need either one more person for Friday 4-6 or if one of the Saturday or Sunday people can swap their shift we would appreciate it! Please email us if you can accommodate this. 

• there is another MQG Webinar, this one is Keys to a Successful Quilt Show, April 30th 6pm. Sign up was through the email you should have received (members only). Check here for lots of on-line MQG resources.
