We’re all back from the Easter long weekend so it’s time to finish up the April meeting.
We had ANOTHER amazing meeting last Thursday at Satin Moon quilt shop. We set more records this month: largest MQG Victoria meeting ever (59 people), most new members signed up at a meeting (10 new members!), and the most modern quilters ever in Satin Moon at one time. Thank you everyone for coming, and to Linda for having us.
And because of that last one we started our meeting off with the big news that we are MOVING! The May meeting will be at Pearkes Recreation Centre, behind Tillicum Mall. We are sad to leave our first home at Satin Moon and we cannot thank Linda enough for all her hospitality and the support she has given us. We presented Linda with a card and flowers as well as a gift certificate to the Blue Fox as a small token of our appreciation.
From there we moved on to the business portion of the meeting, with reports and updates. (The announcements part of it will be in a separate blog post.)
At the halftime, we handed out bundles of Michael Miller challenge fabric. Thanks to Daria, Diane B., Chris, Kimberly, and Nicole for cutting up all the fabric and bundling it for us.

Do you support MQG Victoria? Only 2$ each! |
|
The Monochromatic X&+ block from last month’s BOM demo. Kim H. made five blocks and took the whole lot home. |
Last month we collected over 50 blocks using fabric in our guild colours donated by Robert Kaufman. We handed the lot over to Gabrielle who returned this month with our new table banner:
Thank you Gabrielle for your hard work and excellent quilting skills. We are lucky to have you!
And then we had show and share, the part of the meeting done by you!

And that was the end of the April meeting. Again, thanks to everyone who came and thanks to Linda for having us.
See you on Thursday, May 15th, 7pm at Pearkes Recreation Centre.
Wow it's wonderful how fast the group is growing.
