MQG: How long have you been quilting?
I made my fist quilt 20 years ago, but hard core quilting for about the last 16 years.
MQG: What type of machine[s] do you have?
I currently have 4 machines, a Bernina 930 which is my togo Machine, a pfaff serger, a Juki TL98E on a b-line frame, and my pride and joy. The best machine I have is a Bernina 731, it was the first sewing machine my mom ever owned and is from the 1960’s. It’s awesome!
MQG: Do you press seams open or to the side?
Depends on the project but usually to the side. I like the look of flat seams better but I don’t like the smell of scorched finger tips!
MQG: Do you pre-wash your fabric?
Absolutely not! I do have a theory to this…..
MQG: What is your favourite colour? or colour combination?
I don’t really have a favourite colour combo right now, but I do like magenta/fushia at the moment, or a nice eggplant.
MQG: Where’s your hometown?
Lloydminster, Saskatchewan
MQG: What’s your day job, or are you retired?
Ugh…. I am a dish washer at Shawnigan lake school. The kids are fun for the most part, the teachers are entitled and well we are just the low life of the school. But in my mind I am retired!
MQG: Show us the last quilt you finished!
Table runner made out of Liberty Fabrics.
MQG: What are you working on now?
Trying to finish up UFO’s. This is bad….. I’m working on my Katie Pederson elongated triangle quilt. I really need to quit being distracted by shiney things, or new prints!
MQG: What quilt is on your bucket list?
My goal is to just leave no fabric behind before I expire. I refuse to let friends fight over my stash!
MQG: Favourite fabrics/designers?
Amy Butler, Parsons Grey, Tula Pink, Alexander Henry just the ones I can think of.
MQG: Tell us something quirky about yourself! Or tell a funny story!
Ask Kari and she will tell you as it is sort of quilt related!
Thank you Stacie for introducing yourself, and for volunteering for the guild!
