January meeting reminder
We are having our first meeting of 2014 next week and here are all the details for you.
Thursday, January 16th, 7pm at Satin Moon • 825 Fort St.
Please bring:
• a mug for tea or coffee
• a chair if you have one
• your show and share – we’re starting a new way of showing and sharing this month! If you have something to share, please indicate that when you sign in at the door. That way you don’t have to wait in line until it’s your turn.
• your block of the month block lottery. Here are the instructions if you want to do one or two (or ten!) before the meeting.

Other info:
Membership starts next week. Please bring a completed form, available here, and cash or a cheque for 35$. We will also accept credit cards at the meeting (cost is 37$ for that).
If you’re not planning to join MQG Victoria at this time there is a 3$ drop in fee.
We will be confirming our Executive committee for running MQG Victoria. At this time we have someone for each job. If however there are others interested in a particular position we will have an run-off. Here are job descriptions that we have come up with, trying best to anticipate the future needs of the group. *There are still some smaller areas needing a guiding hand if you are interested in helping out.*
We also have exciting news about challenges and activities so this is one meeting you won’t want to miss! See you there!
Hi there Just visiting Victoria. Is there a modern quilt shop here?
Not a dedicated one unfortunately. Satin Moon on Fort St. has some modern stuff but it's all sort by colour, so you have to hunt for it.
Gala on Douglas St – 8 minute walk from Satin Moon has some Kaffe Fasset and similar, as well as popular voiles and regular quilting fabric. Their prices are pretty good. They have every other kind of fabric too!
Cloth Castle (in Colwood) is just a regular fabric/quilting store in terms of selection.
