Thank you from Nicole
To Lana, Stacie, Daria, and all you fabulous people:
Thank you so much for my lovely present and your effusive thanks. I feel absolutely spoilt with your generosity. I love mini charms an awful lot and the KONA card is something I’ve wanted for a long time.
It has been a lot of fun working to make MQG Victoria the awesome guild it is and it was my pleasure. I leave the guild in good hands for the future and I look forward to having more time to sew.
And now for the loot!
At the meeting I estimated “definitely over a thousand, probably between 1200 and 1500” squares.
First peek!
Laid out more tidily. There are 45 bundles of charm squares.
Some folks know I love rainbows and blue/orange.
Lana challenged me to identify finished projects if I could. Best I could do was this batch: (top row L-R) Michael Miller challenge fabric 2014, Riley Blake challenge fabric 2015, Michael Miller challenge fabric 2014, (bottom row L-R) our charm swap this year x2, and someone used the red crosshatch in a batch of HSTs for the KEYS quilts in 2014.
I sorted all the squares into my usual CMYK colour wheel.
These are the neutrals, the solids, and the multi-coloured.
Do you know what the craziest thing is? All these hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of fabrics, and I have only four of those prints in my stash. FOUR. And I have five other fabrics in different colours. What a lot of variety of fabric there is in the world!
This is what I was wearing when I sorted all the squares…I am pleased to report the KONA colours are: coal and geranium (sweater), oyster and curry (shirt).
There will be a contest at the February 16th meeting. How many squares did I get? The closest guess wins a prize!
Here’s the picture again.
But Nicole! What are you going to do with all those squares anyway?
These are just a few of the quilts I want to make.
Thank you again everyone!
